Sign up for Frontier Bridge milestone 1 beta 1

Milestone 2 — Beta 1

The first FrontierBridge beta focuses on everyday scanning in Home mode and Lab Mode, using one or multiple Macs and one or more SP-1500, SP-2000, SP-2500 and/or SP3000 scanners. I am inviting users to try setup, image delivery and reviewing scans on their own equipment.

Access is free and by invitation. Approved testers receive instructions and a time-limited licence by email. Participation and feedback are voluntary, with no purchase obligation.

This is early software—use non-critical work, keep backups and retain your existing scanning setup.

FrontierBridge Milestone 2 Beta 1 — Beta Licence and EULA

Agreement version: M2B-EULA-1.1 · 18 October 2026
Licensor: Andreas Wirstam
Contact: awirstam@gmail.com
Software: FrontierBridge Milestone 2 Beta 1
Evaluation period: The validity dates in the separately supplied Beta licence file

1. Parties and acceptance

This agreement is between the Licensor identified above and the Participant. It governs FrontierBridge Milestone 2 Beta 1 and its accompanying test instructions.

A person accepting for an organization must have authority to do so. The Participant must receive and expressly accept this agreement before using the beta. If they do not agree, they should decline and close the app; they do not need to contact the Licensor. Acceptance does not replace the requirement for a valid licence file.

Participation is voluntary. There is no obligation to perform tests, send feedback, complete a questionnaire, purchase anything or continue participating. The permitted-use and other terms of this agreement still apply while using the software.

2. Evaluation licence and permitted scope

To the extent the Licensor holds the necessary rights, the Licensor grants the Participant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the supplied build solely for the agreed Milestone 2 beta evaluation, subject to the separately supplied licence file and test instructions.

The evaluation may include:

  • Home mode with one selected scanner at a time.

  • Lab mode, including coordinator and client roles, scanner assignments, returns and recovery workflows.

  • Multiple authorized Macs and operators within the agreed beta-testing setup.

  • Intel and Apple silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later.

  • Compatible SP-1500, SP-2000, SP-2500 and SP-3000 scanner configurations supported by the supplied build.

  • SP-3000 compatibility testing with the scanner’s S2 software.

  • SP-500 folder import where supported by the supplied build. This does not include live SP-500 network scanning or replacement of its Windows controller.

  • Image organisation, customer orders, Scan Finishing, export, RAW re-export and archive features available in the supplied build.

Inclusion in this evaluation scope is not certification that every scanner, software version, Mac, network or storage configuration will work. Follow the supplied test instructions and establish a working single-scanner baseline before expanding to more complex lab tests.

One backup copy of the software may be kept for the evaluation. No fee is charged under this agreement, and no purchase obligation or subscription is created.

The Participant may not sell, sublicense, publicly redistribute or provide download access to the beta. Providing the software to people outside the agreed beta-testing setup, or using it outside the permitted evaluation scope, requires a separate written agreement.

Nothing restricts rights that applicable law does not allow a contract to restrict, including applicable rights to make necessary backups, observe or test software, or obtain interoperability information.

3. Beta limitations and safe use

The beta is evaluation software and may contain defects, lose or misassociate data, fail to connect, fail to deliver images or fail to complete an order. It has not been certified for every scanner, network or production workflow.

Use test material, maintain independent backups and keep a known working alternative available. Do not rely on the beta for the sole preservation of images or deadline-critical work.

SP-3000 support remains subject to broader evaluation, including service-list loading, image delivery, orientation, complete orders, subsequent orders, reconnection and different software configurations. Successful operation in one setup does not establish compatibility with every SP-3000 installation.

Multi-scanner and multi-Mac testing must follow the supplied instructions. Do not reclaim or reassign a scanner that may still be used by another Mac. An override for an unreachable owner depends on the operator confirming that the old Mac is shut down or disconnected from the scanner; network discovery cannot independently prove that condition.

Choose accessible, writable storage with sufficient free space for incoming RAW files, generated TIFF files and any additional outputs. Storage warnings are advisory and do not reserve disk space or guarantee that a transfer or conversion will succeed. Moving a roll to the Library’s Archive does not free disk space.

Do not expose scanner services to the public internet. The Participant remains responsible for obtaining authority to use their hardware, other software, network and test images. These responsibilities do not waive statutory rights.

4. Licence period and activation

The Beta licence file supplied separately by email specifies the permitted major version and evaluation start and expiry dates. No licence is included in the app download, and Beta builds have no automatic 90-day unlicensed trial.

Import the supplied file through Licence → Import Licence before starting the scanner bridge. The Licence page shows the applicable dates in UTC.

A valid licence is checked when starting the bridge. A not-yet-valid, expired or incompatible licence does not permit a new bridge session. Expiry does not interrupt an already-running bridge session; it may be finished normally. Existing images, records and export remain accessible after expiry.

Stopping active evaluation or choosing not to provide feedback does not shorten the licence period. An extension requires a replacement valid licence file.

There is no automatic renewal, subscription, payment obligation or promise of a perpetual Beta licence. Existing paid licences and their separately agreed rights are not cancelled or reduced by this agreement.

5. Ownership and third-party material

The Participant retains ownership of their images, film, order information and other submitted material. The licence transfers no ownership of FrontierBridge. Rights in third-party material remain with the respective rights holders.

FrontierBridge is an independent project and is not presented as a Fujifilm product or as endorsed by Fujifilm. Product names identify equipment and software involved in compatibility testing.

This agreement grants no licence to MS01, A1, S2, firmware or other separately licensed products. Any applicable third-party notices must accompany the beta.

The Licensor must establish its own distribution rights; acceptance by a tester does not provide those rights.

6. Feedback and diagnostic information

The Participant is invited to report defects and observations. The Licensor may use voluntarily supplied suggestions to improve FrontierBridge without an obligation to pay for them. This does not transfer ownership of photographs, personal data or other materials, or permit their publication.

Do not submit customer data, images, credentials or confidential third-party information without authorization. Review diagnostic reports before sharing; they may include filenames, paths, network addresses, Mac and scanner information, crash reports and order details.

Packet captures and sample images should be supplied only by separate agreement. Do not post licence files, private diagnostic bundles or customer information publicly.

Personal data will be handled under the privacy notice provided with the invitation. Accepting this agreement is not blanket consent to unrelated processing. This agreement does not authorize new telemetry.

7. Support and changes

Support is offered through the stated contact on a reasonable-effort basis; no response-time commitment is made. Features and builds may change, and a commercial release is not guaranteed.

Changes to this agreement require notice and acceptance where applicable; they do not retroactively remove accrued rights.

There is no general confidentiality or non-disparagement obligation in this agreement. A separate agreement is needed if confidentiality is required.

8. Warranties and liability

Except for rights and obligations that applicable law preserves, the beta is provided as available for evaluation, without a promise of uninterrupted, error-free operation or fitness for a particular production workflow.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor is not liable for indirect or consequential business losses arising from beta use.

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where applicable, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Statutory rights take precedence over conflicting wording in this agreement.

9. Voluntary participation and stopping evaluation

The Participant may pause or stop testing at any time, without giving a reason, sending an email or obtaining permission. No minimum amount of testing, feedback or continued participation is required.

Stopping evaluation does not cancel the issued licence. The Participant may continue using the beta within this agreement’s permitted scope for the remaining validity period of the licence file, whether or not they provide feedback. There is no requirement to uninstall merely because they stop participating in testing.

At licence expiry, new bridge sessions require another valid licence as described in section 4. The Participant may retain the app to access existing images, records and export, or remove it if they wish.

Removing the app is optional. Keep independent backups and use documented removal instructions rather than manually deleting privileged helper or system files.

The Licensor may stop offering new beta downloads, updates or support. That decision alone does not shorten an already issued licence period. Nothing in this section permits use outside the licence scope or removes rights and remedies required by applicable law.

10. Applicable law and disputes

This agreement is governed by Swedish law. It does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections available under otherwise applicable law.

The Participant may contact the Licensor to try to resolve a dispute. Nothing requires a consumer to waive an available statutory complaint process or bring proceedings in an otherwise impermissible exclusive forum.

Acceptance

By choosing “Accept and Continue” in the app, or selecting an unchecked agreement checkbox and confirming acceptance before downloading, the Participant confirms that they have been given this agreement, have had an opportunity to read and save it, and agree to its terms.

A person accepting for an organization confirms authority to do so.

Acceptance is not a commitment to test, provide feedback, buy a licence or continue participating. A copy of this agreement should remain available to the Participant.

For electronic acceptance, the record identifies agreement version M2B-EULA-1.1 and the acceptance date. A materially revised agreement must be presented for fresh acceptance; continuing to use the app is not substituted for that explicit acceptance.
