Image receiving computer or DIC (Digital Image Controller ) can be configured in various combinations either as a second computer connected to your FMPC controlling the scanner or as a 1 computer set up where one PC controller both the scanner and image receiving.
these are the ones I have tried:
DIC running windows 2000/XP with c4/c5 scanner pc running fuji a1 v7.6
DIC running windows 2000/XP with MS01 4.2 scanner pc running fuji a1 v7.6
windows 2000/XP with MS01 4.2 all in one NO DIC just scanner PC
Windows 10 ms01 ver 10 64 bit and scanner pc running fuji a1 v7.6
windows 2000/XP with ms01 ver 10 64 all in one NO DIC just scanner PC
DIC running DIC 2 software.
I have my set up in stand alone mode. A1 ver 7.7 does not allow standalone mode and require a printer connection.
Downgrade from 7.7 to 7.6 is done by inserting 7.6 cd. it allows do revert to previous versions without the need to reinstall.

Instruction how to install C4/C5 on windows XP
make sure you are running windows xp with service pack 3 or windows 2000 with service pack 4 ,Computer name must be FRONTEND (or whatever computer name is set on the scanner pc to look for in the FDI configuration ) Workgroup must be the same as Scanner PC default is MICSGROUP (not a typo)
If installing on a virtual machine network must be BRIDGED and not NAT. Guest OS must get its own IP and be visible on network.
C4C5 needs two drives and default drive letters are C and D
network protocol NETBEUI needs to be installed. On windows 2000 NETBEUI is available to install on windows xp ini file must be pointed to. it can be found on Windows xp install disc.
Now we have to create a new user. User name must be FRONTIER and password must be FRONTIER and user have to be be ADMIN
Now set firewall to off, we will need to do this again later
No lets start the C4C5 installation
choose custom setup
Start with MSDE.
Restart after MSDE install. DI printing service WILL FAIL to install of MSDE is not running.
Log in with user FRONTIER
install 64mb SmartMedia driver, i’m not sure if this necessary. Restart computer again
install DI Printing Data Writing Service
After this reboot system will automatically log in to our FRONTIER account and start Fuji imaging service. We are not done yet so EXIT fuji imaging service application
Now we must share our D drive to the workgroup (MICSGROUP)
Now run pre operational check on FMPC
