The Yashica T5 is just like the T4 but slightly more expensive and with a waist level view finder. Its also known as the Yashica T4 super.
This is absolutely one of my favourite cameras. It’s small, made out of plastic and the build quality is not great, don't drop this one! However it packs a punch and competes above its class.
I actually use the waist level view finder a lot!
Some sites claims that its waterproof but I wouldn’t go swimming with it.
its a 35 mm point and shoot and there is no manual settings or manual focus.
Because of this I wouldn’t recommend it as anyones main camera.
But it’s small and light so perfect as a travel and documentary camera. But in a pinch and if you find yourself without any other cameras this absolutely does the job for most occasions.
It can be good for beginners as you don’t have to do anything else than point and shoot. But it does not teach you photography or makes you understand manual settings.
Most importantly the pictures are great, they are soft and dreamy but still sharp.
Would I recommend buying this camera? no, buy the T4, its equally great. I find it comparable to the cheeper Ricoh GR1 or the Olympus mju cameras, the ones with large aperture lenses not the zoom ones.
If you want better build quality there is the Contax T2, the Leica minilux, The Nikon 28/35 TI, The Minolta tc-1 and The Fujifilm Klasse (and a few more)
Keep in mind that those cameras are very expansive and none of them will take better pictures than the yashicas or the Olympus.
and that point and shoot cameras are fully electronic and were build in the 90´s so they can die at any time.
